Coronavirus Availability

Our lives have and are changing due to Coronavirus. AJR wants to let you know our availability to handle your insurance claims has not changed. 

We have added video teleconferencing to speak with you about current claims and emergencies that may arise for consultation and assistance with property losses. As always, you can call, text, or email us. 

We are constantly researching and staying on top of current information related to the potential for virus-associated claims.

Microwaving Face Masks — FIRE HAZARD

In this new Coronavirus existence, everyone is scrambling to protect themselves in any way possible. Without accurate information, people may be making a severe error trying to “clean” their face masks. Some posts have gone viral recommending microwaving cloth face coverings in plastic bags for “2 to 3 minutes” for a good cleaning.

Here is a Reuters article declaring a True Claim, which states face masks do catch fire if we microwave them.

The CDC does recommend using cloth face coverings to help slow the spread of Coronavirus. Recommendations for the proper use and care from the CDC are here.

 

AJR takes our responsibility seriously and felt it was essential to highlight additional fire dangers we recently learned. We hope everyone stays safe and out of danger. Please heed suggestions from the experts in all areas, especially no microwaving face coverings.
